It all begins with a stone, which through a meditative and deliberate process, becomes a fine, soft pigment, that in turn becomes paint, and part of the piece of art. this connection to the landscape inspires me, becomes a part of my work. i hope that this tie to the earth connects the collector to the landscape it tells the story of.

The process of turning a found stone into a paint is a little bit of magic that I feel grateful to enjoy, it connects me to the painting before I’ve even started. Having lived in this part of Norfolk since I was born, the ability to take the natural pigment and make it a part of my creative process feels like a privilege and a joy. I hope that the people that hang my art on their walls can too feel that connection to our beautiful part of the world.
