Jupiter Rising
This 75cm by 65cm oil on canvas was painted after spending an evening stood at the highest point of Scolt Head, watching the moon, and then Jupiter, rise from the horizon of the marsh. I wanted to capture a little of that magic an put it onto canvas - and this piece emerged. Layer after layer of oil, including pigment found on the island, creates such deep and rich tones, reminiscent of the colours of the Norfolk marshes that evening. In a black wooden float frame (79cm x 64cm). Unvarnished through choice, though can be done on request.
